No Bake Strawberry Pistachio Yogurt Pie

Last week I mistakenly purchased a huge container of vanilla yogurt. Ooops! I meant to buy plain yogurt. So I decided to return the wrong yogurt and replace it with the right one. I went through my files and found the receipt and put it in my pocket, but I forgot to bring the vanilla … [read more]

Tangerine Yogurt Cake Sweetened with Applesauce and Agave Nectar

I was in the mood for a citrus cake but didn’t have any citrus fruit in the house. Fortunately, we had plenty of tangerine juice (Kemal’s favorite) in the refrigerator so I used some of that to make this cake which is fairly healthy as far as cakes go. There’s no butter or oil, and … [read more]

Irish Cream Meringue Cookies

Kemal and I love meringue cookies, and I made them for the first time last night. What’s funny is I always thought these cookies would be harder to make than regular cookies, and since I suck at making regular cookies, I was surprised that my meringue cookies turned out perfectly! I’m so happy I finally … [read more]

Raspberry Jam Roll

She attached a note to the package … [read more]

Lemon-Lime Valentine Cakes

A theme has become apparent. I dream about lemon cakes! I must admit I’ve been obsessed about lemon cakes these days so I guess it’s normal that I would have reoccurring dreams about making them. I would have liked to have had more lime in this cake, but I made do with what … [read more]

Candied Citrus Peel

I recently made some candied tangelo peel for a recipe, but I grated it finely so it would mix well with the other ingredients. It tasted so good that Kemal and I could hardly resist nibbling on it all prior to using it for our recipe. Since we enjoyed it so much, I decided to … [read more]

Dad’s Snow Cream

One of my favorite winter treats when I was a kid was Dad’s snow cream. It’s way better than ice cream you buy in the store…perfectly sweet, fluffy and creamy at the same time…not to mention full of vanilla flavor. Dad’s snow cream was always something we looked forward to when it snowed…that and … [read more]
