Fresh Fig Filo Tart

Kemal grew up in the Mediterranean, and fig trees were commonplace in his hometown of Mostar. He has always enjoyed munching on fresh figs,

and any dessert with figs is always welcome.

I found a recipe for a fresh fig tart in my Greek cookbook that I have at home that I’ve been wanting to try, and while I liked the tart, I didn’t think it was sweet enough. I think it needs a LOT more sugar.

The tart reminds me of a milk pie that I had when I was a little girl. Brings back nice memories, and while it tasted good, this isn’t a dessert that I’ll make again.

Here’s a picture of the figs in the filo before I baked them. Don’t they look yummy! :)
