Limoncello Milkshake with Fresh Fruit and Limoncello Semifreddo

I’ve never made ice cream before, but that didn’t stop me from trying last week. I found a recipe for how to make ice cream without an ice cream maker, and while it got icy and thickened, it never got to the consistency of a hard ice cream. I’m not sure if I didn’t whisk it enough or what. The consistency is more like a milkshake.

Anyway, despite my failure to make a hard ice cream, I’m happy because this creamy shake tastes absolutely divine and has a strong kick because of the high alcohol content. I added some fruit and that just put it over-the-top!

I later added crushed ladyfingers to the cream and Limoncello and made a semifreddo, which was awesome! Those crushed cookies are fantastic soaked in the cream and vodka! :) Talk about total yumminess!!! :) Here’s a picture of my eggless semifreddo:

I used homemade Limoncello. See how it make it here. (Of course you can buy it at the liquor store if you don’t feel like making it yourself)

    • looks great, Being a liqueur fanatic, I have found that homemade liqueurs are usually good but I find it hard to beat the top quality limoncello made from Italy, a company called Russo, it adds the little bit extra to any recipe you may use. You have to look hard to find it though has it is only sold by a few exclusive retailers. check out theoakstrading.co.uk if you want the best.
